Forks, WA

VACATION before twilight

Twihard or not, you'll have a BLAST in Forks, WA!! Highway 101 displays the beauty of the Evergreen State seamlessly. Great photo opportunities as you pass through small towns, and, of course, when you reach the Kalaloch and Hoh Rain Forest areas. Stunning!

Be sure to get an early start because this is going to be long day! We departed at 7A and with all of the stops to take pictures (and tried desperately to find restrooms) we arrived in Forks by 12:45P.

Take it from me
: Stop for a bathroom break in Aberdeen...

Since our Dazzled by Twilight tour didn't begin until 2:45P, we made a few stops first:

Forks Chamber of Commerce to pick up goodies and take photos. While you're there, check out the 'Visitor's Board' and add your pin (if it'll fit...).

Then, we headed over to Forks Coffee Shop. This is the cafe that is replicated in the motion pictures. With a menu that varied several brunchtime favorites, I played it safe and went with the Bacon and Cheese Logger- to just say delicious is an understatement! Here's dessert: *Tip! Play the trivia game on attached in the Chamber of Commerce packet while you dine.

Tour Time!!
I recommend taking the tour provided by Dazzled by Twilight. We had thee best time and the staff was absolutely SUPERB!!! The history of the store and the store itself are exciting to learn, so don't forget to ask! The tour, led by a very talented and animated guide, includes stopping at each famous(book)location, fun facts, trivia, and plenty of photo opportunities. Here are a few places we went:

"This is Sparta! This is Forks!"-Keisha

All together now TEAM JACOB

Rialto Beach, La Push

The Swan Residence and the Cullen residence

Did I mention you get to ride on this loaded bus?!

Follow Me

In this blog I will share with you all of my planning and execution per mini vacay. If you're in the area, feel free to vacay my way, or use the outline to create your own inexpensive adventure!!

First stop...Forks, WA!!

Traveling

I love to travel. As a culture junkie and history enthusiast, I am always eager to get out there and explore. Whether it be scenic drives or traveling across country to visit a friend and do like the locals, I am all about the experience. The world has such great stories to tell, and so many beautiful pictures to view.

The only problem is...traveling can get expensive!!

Although I will never let the cost of airfare deter me away from the marvels of the world, I would like to take a pause and reflect on the local wonders of my world.

Did you know that the Hoh Rain Forest along HWY 101 in Washington State is the only rain forest in the country? And that every morning Mt. Rainier tells me story?

There are so many breathtaking adventures right in my backyard- such as historic towns, Native traditions, music, and wine country!! The travel possibilities are endless...and I'm ready to let them take my breath away!
